Jean-Sébastien Leblanc obtained a bachelor degree in Jazz Interpretation in 2005 as well as 2 Masters degrees (Jazz Interpretation and Classical Interpretation) in clarinet and bass clarinet at the University of Montreal in 2007. Very active on the music scene, we were able to hear in various styles in recent years with the Early Jazz Band, Masson Stomp, Speakeasy Electroswing, Chomedey Inn, the Afro-Colombian Jazz Orchestra, the Straight Pipe trio, Pando, Marco Calliari, Mathieu Bellemare, Frédéric Péloquin, Spacey Koala, with the group ANTONIO, as conductor, arranger, instrumentalist and singer with “Les 7 doigts de la main” or as freelance with various ensembles.

He has performed several times across Quebec province including the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the Quebec Summer Festival, the Francofolies of Montreal, the Rimouski International Jazz Festival, the Just for Laughs Festival as well as all over Canada, the United States, France, Italy, Switzerland and Romania. He is regularly a studio musician for several musical artists of different styles, for film music (including Robert-Marcel Lepage, Michel Corriveau, Luc Sicard and Peter Venne) as well as commercials of all kinds.

Also wanting to share his passion, he teaches clarinet (jazz and classical) at Cégep de Trois-Rivières as well as a clarinet and bass private lessons for the music concentrations of the Ozias-Leduc and Reine-Marie high schools as well as at Polyvalente Ste-Thérèse. Active musician of the Société pour les Arts en Milieu de Santé (SAMS) for 7 years, he performs regularly in various residences, CHSLD and Masson Stomp-Krew of Fleuvother health establishments.

Close to the swing and blues dance scene, he has also energized dancers body movements with his music for over 11 years at parties organized by various swing schools in Quebec, Canada and the United States.
